Los Angeles vs. Long Beach Cruise Terminals (2026–27): Where to Go, Parking and Hotels
Updated October 25, 2026. A Los Angeles-area cruise booking does not always mean the same cruise terminal. The Los Angeles Cruise Terminal in San Pedro and the Long Beach Cruise Terminal near the Queen Mary are separate facilities. Travelers who confuse them risk going to the wrong pier on embarkation day. Check the cruise line’s final documents for the exact terminal, berth and check-in window before paying for transportation.
Two ports, two different addresses
Los Angeles Cruise Terminal / World Cruise Center: 100 Swinford Street, San Pedro, CA 90731, at Harbor Boulevard and Swinford Street. The Port of Los Angeles lists berths 91–93. Directions, schedules and official visitor information are on the Port of Los Angeles cruise terminal page .
Long Beach Cruise Terminal: 231 Windsor Way, Long Beach, CA 90802, beside the Queen Mary. The facility is operated by Carnival Corporation. Consult Visit Long Beach’s terminal guide and your cruise line’s instructions.
The Port of Los Angeles explicitly warns that these are different ports. Its guidance distinguishes Los Angeles (US LAX) from Long Beach (US LGB) as seaport codes. Do not rely on an airport name, a generic “LA cruise” search result or a hotel advertisement as proof of your actual embarkation location.
Parking: what to check before you drive
San Pedro: The Port of Los Angeles currently publishes secured overnight parking at its PCI-managed cruise lots, including a $23 maximum per day for standard vehicles and $40 for oversized vehicles. It lists entry at Swinford Street off Harbor Boulevard. The posted rate can change; confirm current rules and available lots directly with the port or parking operator.
Long Beach: Visit Long Beach currently lists cruise-terminal garage parking at $23 per day, subject to change, with a garage height limit of 7 feet. Oversized vehicles requiring more than one space cannot use the garage. Carnival’s port guidance also warns that some sailings may require off-site parking and that guests should review their travel emails. Always follow the instructions issued for your sailing , even when a general online guide says parking is available.
Flights, hotels and transfers: the practical sequence
Confirm the departure terminal first. Save the ship name, exact pier, embarkation day and boarding deadline from the cruise line’s latest documents.
Allow time for flight disruptions. If you are flying into Southern California, compare a pre-cruise hotel night rather than assuming a flight arriving on departure day will connect safely. Compare flight options on OptionTrip .
Compare hotels near the correct port. A San Pedro hotel and a Long Beach hotel can serve different embarkation needs. Check actual map location, taxes, cancellation terms and ground transfer costs before purchasing. Explore accommodations .
Plan transfers realistically. Verify luggage capacity, pickup location, accessibility and all-in price. Airport, ride-hailing, shuttle and rental-car arrangements depend on the actual provider. Explore transfer options or compare rental cars .
Compare the complete cruise cost. Check what is included in the fare, cabin category, taxes, port fees, gratuities, onboard extras, cancellation terms and ground arrangements. Explore cruise options .
What changes between 2026 and 2027?
Schedules, berth assignments, parking arrangements and sailing-specific check-in rules can change. A 2026 map or ticket email is not a substitute for your final 2027 embarkation document. Before departure, verify details with the port and cruise operator; do not treat an indicative cruise fare or hotel listing as a confirmed booking.
Plan the whole trip together
Instead of searching independently for flights, a hotel and port transportation, use OptionTrip’s Vi travel planner to organize the itinerary and compare routes. Vi can help you plan, but the cruise company, airline and hotel determine final availability, prices and terms.
